This article will teach you how to build new membership types that can be purchased by your community. If you are looking to add a pre-existing membership to an account, you'll need to follow the steps in this article instead. Additionally, if you are looking to create a new membership price under a pre-existing membership, review the steps here instead.

Steps to add a membership:

  1. Select the MembershipTypes tab on the left-hand side of the admin portal.
  2. Click Create new Membership.
  3. Fill out the form. A few of the more complicated options are explained below:

    Membership renewal frequency:

Specific Date: Designed for memberships that expire on the same date each year.

Rolling: Meant for memberships that expire exactly one year after the date of purchase. Example: A membership that is bought on October 7th, 2021 will expire on October 7th, 2022.

    Membership types:

Base: Use this option for memberships that do not require a user to already hold another type of membership. Example: An annual membership to join a community centre.

Add-on: These are memberships that are associated with a base membership. To buy this type of membership, the associated base membership needs to be already held or purchased at the same time.
  4. Select the renewal options and related notifications. To learn more about each option, review the Automated Renewal Reminders section in the Memberships Overview article.
  5. Click Create.

Next, follow the steps in this article to set the pricing options for your membership.
