An instance of the Communal membership module has been created for your League, which already contains initial information about your League (membership types, prices, digital membership cards, etc.). Your first task is to claim this site so that the EFCL can continue processing your memberships on their website.

Once you complete this step, you'll be presented with an additional training guide where you can learn how to use your new membership module to save time and increase memberships.

  1. You should have received a message in your email inbox from <XXXXX> with a link to claim your League's Communal instance. If you did not receive this email, please contact help@getcommunal.com, providing your League name, and request an email to claim your Communal instance.
  2. After clicking the link in your email, you'll be directed to your new Communal instance. The site will walk you through a 3-step process to claim your account.
These steps are required as the EFCL will need the information to properly process the memberships and direct the funds automatically to your bank account.
Additional details on each step are outlined below:
    1. Personal Information: This step will create your admin account within your new Communal instance. You'll have the opportunity to add more admins once you gain access to your new site.
    2. Organization Information: Since the new system will send membership revenue from purchases on the EFCL website directly to your bank account instead of first going to the EFCL, the payment processor, Stripe, needs to ensure they are working with a legitimate organization to comply with the global regulation called Know Your Customer. To satisfy this requirement, they ask for a verified individual to be associated with each account. In the past, we have seen this person be the Treasurer, President, or main admin helping with implementation. The information is updatable when the individual leaves the League.
The information provided in this step is securely stored and used solely for these purposes. Learn more about Stripe's security measures here
    3. Payout Information: As mentioned above, the membership revenue for your League processed through the EFCL website is sent directly to your bank account. This step tells the system where to send the funds.
